It’s official: “The Office” is leaving Netflix for Peacock, NBCUniversal’s streaming service.

But when it moves in January, fans will be able to watch the first two seasons of the show for free.

The popular sitcom will officially move to Peacock on Jan. 1, where the first two seasons will be available on the streaming service’s basic tier, which is free and supported by ads, Variety reported on Monday.

But fans who want to watch the other seven seasons will have to go up to the Premium tier, which costs $4.99 per month, according to CNBC. The ad-free version of Premium costs $9.99 per month.

Apart from Seasons 3-9, Peacock’s Premium tiers will also give viewers access to “Superfan Episodes” that include new footage and deleted scenes, according to Variety.

Peacock will also feature other bonus content from “The Office,” including themed episode collections, behind-the-scenes footage and interviews, and clip playlists, Variety reported. There will also be an ambient noise channel called “The Office Zen” with office sounds for people who are working from home.

“The Office” moving to Peacock will be a blow to Netflix, as the sitcom has been one of its most popular shows, according to The Verge. In 2018, the show accounted for 52 billion minutes of watch time on Netflix in the U.S. — or 3% of minutes watched on Netflix.
