Two In-N-Out Burger locations in Colorado have seen an outbreak of 122 COVID-19 cases among their employees in recent weeks, according to Fox News.
A location in Colorado Springs had 80 confirmed staff cases of COVID-19 and a location in Aurora had 42 confirmed cases on Wednesday, according to a database from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, the Denver Post reported.
This was an increase from last week, when there was a total of 80 confirmed cases at the two In-N-Out locations, according to the Denver Post. There have been no customers with confirmed cases linked to In-N-Out.
The outbreak was first confirmed at the Colorado Springs location on Dec. 6, which was a little over two weeks after the restaurant first opened, according to Business Insider.
A spokesman for In-N-Out said that employees who tested positive for COVID-19, as well as others who were in close contact with them, have been “excluded from the workplace,” according to the Denver Post.
“We continue to work closely with our public health agencies and have confirmed the appropriate steps to help protect our communities,” In-N-Out spokesman Denny Warwick said. “These steps include: limiting staff to the minimum number necessary to serve our customers, using staff ‘cohorts’ to limit possible exposure, and limiting dining room access to takeout orders only while ensuring appropriate physical distancing.”
Both In-N-Out locations opened in November, and are the first two to open in Colorado, according to Fox News. In-N-Out plans to open seven more Colorado locations in the future.
