SALT LAKE CITY — The University of Utah men’s basketball program has received a huge commitment from a local prospect for its 2020 recruiting class.

Wasatch Academy’s Caleb Lohner, considered a Top 100 prospect in the country by ESPN and 247 Sports, announced his pledge via Twitter on Wednesday.

Listed by both sites at 6-foot-6 and 200 pounds, Lohner has received interest from numerous Power Five programs, as well as major interest from BYU. A native of Flower Mound, Texas, he transferred to Wasatch Academy earlier this year.

According to 247 Sports’ rankings, Lohner becomes the second Top 100 prospect to commit to Utah as part of its 2020 class, joining Ian Martinez, who is the son of recently-hired assistant coach Henry Martinez.
